Pennies for Haiti
What?
Our annual penny drive will benefit Haitian earthquake victims.
Where?
Collection jugs will be in each classroom.
The classroom with the most coins - by weight, so every penny counts - will get a prize.
When?
We'll have jugs out to classrooms on Wednesday this week, collecting them until 4/16. Each class is getting an introduction to Haiti and penny collecting in their Library class this week.
Acknowledgements?
As each child contributes, he/she will sign a hand cut out and we'll post them up on the wall starting at the office. Our goal is to wrap all the way around the core of the building.
Where are funds going?
The collected pennies will be given to the UNICEF Haiti Reconstruction Fund (this fund specifically helps children). For more information, go to www.unicef.org/.
