Reflections
Reflections is a national PTA arts competition program. Students are encouraged to interpret and create original piece of art to reflect each year's theme. This year's theme will be announced in September. There are 6 categories in this program: literature, visual arts, music composition, photography, choreography, and film. All work must be done by one student only. Use your creative talent to create a piece that reflects the theme. Selected pieces will move on to the district competition.
Basic rules:
Literature – fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama
Any paper not to exceed 8.5”x 11”
2000 words maximum
Visual Arts – original print, drawing, painting, collage
No more than 3/8" thick (no thick canvas)
No more than 24"x30"
No name on front
Photography - no more than 11"x14"
Music – Voice, instruments, or combination of both
5 minutes maximum
Must be in a CD
6th graders must hand in score, no larger than 11”x14”
Dance and Film – 5 minutes maximum in DVD
